Different names for common ingredients

An ingredient may go by many names, often varying based on location. This list of different names for common ingredients stems from my continuous journey of writing and publishing new recipes. The column on the left features the ingredient names I generally use, striving for consistency across this website.

Over the past nine years, I have been honing my culinary skills and recipe-writing craft, spending time as a chef in both New Zealand and Scotland. During this period, I have also had the privilege of contributing recipes to a publication based in the USA. In doing so, I’ve tailored my language and spelling to suit. When there are regional versions of a recipes I have proved links
